Hey friends, just wanted to say, I know things have been slow here, but I've been kept very busy with a full-time job and also family/holidays. My mother just left from her Thanksgiving visit, so I am finally getting to catch up with long overdue commissions, but lots of work to do before she comes back for Christmas in a couple weeks! Here's my current slate...
Working on a long awaited Kim Possible commission (sorry for the wait; had to put everything on hold with my mom here).
Working on comic pages for GrayHaven comics that are overdue and I badly need to finish this week since they're for print.
Still have 3 pages to do for Erica Heflin's "Of the Grave" webcomic, and also have some cover work slated for her since she is going to take that to print eventually too.
And I recently got signed on to do more of those Disney Princess parody/feminist coloring pages.
After all that, I also need to redo a piece I did previously for mandygirl78. A few months back, I got some great tips on drawing Disney princesses from a friend with a heck of a lot of experience, so I might redo a lot of stuff, ha, but definitely wanna tweak that one piece at least. I'll send you the redo when it's done, mandygirl78.
And, yeah, I still plan to post all, or a lot anyway, of my old D.A. art from the old I.D. I had here, but I wanna tweak some of that stuff too and just haven't had time. I'll keep doing it a bit at a time once I've caught up with this stuff!
So, for now, commissions are closed until I catch up. Painful to do that, because I sure need the income, but all this stuff is long since paid for and the funds long gone, so I need to not get ahead of myself. It'll stress me out, ha. I also need to figure out the whole quarterly income tax thing for the coming year too. Hope I'm not too late, and hope I don't get a fine for not doing the quarterly route this past year! I just have no idea how I can predict and pay in advance anything I might make through Paypal! I don't have anything to spare to pay taxes in advance of earning money, nor do I ever know from one quarter to the next if I will have any commissions at all that period. Anyway, keep watch here for me to announce commissions reopening after December, though I also need to take some time to try and make some good product designs for the various shops like RedBubble and Zazzle, and to investigate other sites that might bring higher paying commissions, especially some I have heard of that are similar to Fiverr but more profitable. My day job barely brings in 200 to 250 a week for me, even though I seem to spend all my time there, so I really need to create a good, combined income of that AND commissions if I'm ever getting my own place.
Of course, there's also my webcomic site. Been too busy to do many strips yet, though I will try to get at least one new one up this month! Ha. I also do some fun articles there, movie reviews, and other stuff, so be sure to check it out now and then! [link] And remember that you can leave comments. Help us out a bit by clicking on the few ads we have there though, or picking up some Moonlight Motel merchandise from our CafePress store! It's still a major dream of mine to be able to do my comic strip full time, ha, but so far the site has been up for over a year and hasn't come close to paying for itself yet, no doubt in part because I rarely post new strips (though I do post other stuff weekly), but also because visitors don't click the ads. *sigh*
Anyways, hope everyone is having happy holidays! Though I have so much to do, we've been having fun here too!
